The FlexMAX™ Mobile WiMAX System

SOMA Networks was the first and remains the only broadband wireless access company to offer a fully converged, all-IP Mobile WiMAX solution for world-class service providers. The FlexMAX Mobile WiMAX System, which includes base stations, mobile stations and a full range of customer service network (CSN) servers, is a complete solution, eliminating the need for multiple solution providers and costly integration projects. It also includes an optional Element Management System (EMS) that allows service providers to monitor their FlexMAX-based networks in real time and manage them down to the subscriber level for maximum uptime, performance and efficiency.

The FlexMAX System utilizes a tower-mounted radio subsystem along with advanced antenna technologies that dynamically adapt to any terrain or service area by increasing signal strength without increasing power consumption. A single FlexMAX macrocell base station can serve up to 1000 subscribers within a cell radius of up to 16 km (10 mi)—the largest radius in the industry. As a result, the FlexMAX System supports the highest subscriber density and most flexible deployment options for service providers worldwide.

The FlexMAX Mobile WiMAX System also ensures the best possible subscriber broadband experience. To activate broadband services, subscribers simply plug their phones into standard jacks, and revenue-quality telephony services are available immediately! This ease of provisioning also reduces installation and support costs for service providers, while enabling them to realize immediate revenue.
